The Standard Cruise Protection Plan is purchased by HawaiiCruises.Travel on your behalf with cruises 5 nights or longer. It may reimburse you for cruise line penalty charges if you have to cancel or interrupt your cruise for a covered reason such as sudden and serious illness, injury or death in the family. The Standard Cruise Protection Plan also provides 24-Hour Worldwide Travel Assistance Services during your cruise, such as medical emergency referrals, multi-lingual interpretation services, emergency cash advances, tracking lost or delayed baggage and replacing lost or stolen travel documents.
The Upgrade Plan is an optional plan available for you to purchase, which includes all of the benefits of the Standard Plan (trip cancellation/interruption and worldwide travel assistance services), and also includes a waiver of the Pre-Existing Medical Conditions exclusion which expands the Trip Cancellation/Interruption coverage under the Standard Plan, as well as additional benefits that may reimburse you for Baggage loss or delay and Emergency Medical Expenses incurred during your cruise vacation. The Optional Upgrade Plan is encouraged for clients who want more comprehensive travel insurance coverage and for those clients who want the added protection of a Pre-Existing Conditions Exclusion Waiver. The Optional Upgrade Plan is only available up to your final payment due date. If you make your cruise reservation less than 90 days before the sailing date, the Optional Upgrade Plan is only available if you elect it within 7 days after you book your cruise.
Exclusions: Travel Insurance through the Tripmate plan will not be available for cruises that exceed either (or both) of these limitations: (a) Cruise fare (excluding taxes) exceeds $50,000 per person and / or (b) length of cruise exceeds 120 days.

- The Optional Upgrade Plan may not be elected after your final payment date. For cruises booked less than 90 days before the sailing date, the Optional Upgrade Plan is only available if you elect it within 7 days after the date on which you book your cruise.
- The same coverage election must apply to all passengers in a stateroom.
- Clients may add coverage for airline reservations (made through the cruise line*) for $19.00 per person. If you choose to purchase the Upgrade Plan and pay $19.00 per person in addition, your airline reservations (made through the cruise line*) will be eligible under that plan. If you choose not to purchase the Upgrade Plan, but choose to pay the $19.00 per person, then your airline reservations (made through the cruise line*) will be eligible under the Standard Plan that is purchased on your behalf by HawaiiCruises.Travel if your cruise is 5 nights or longer.
* Air insurance as mentioned above is available only for bookings in which the cruise line's air has been utilized.
